We are thrilled to announce the grand re-opening of Baba Yaga’s Bits and Bobs at Railroad Square Art District in Tallahassee, FL!! We are also excited to be sharing the space with @mindless_ent_ !

Project Hail Mary has undeniably become one of my favorite films of all time, so when I was asked if I would take on a commission, I knew I had to do it justice. This film fills me with a love for life and hope in so many different ways and when I am inspired by something, I create.
It was an honor to work on this commission as a birthday gift for two fellow lovers of PHM, and thanks to their trust in my vision, they gave me the creative freedom to create this set.

Included in this set are two Advantage/Disadvantage D20s, and the other six dice in a standard 7-piece TTRPG dice set. Inside of one of the d20s is the xenon Spaceman Grace model that Rocky made, in a resin mix with very light red sparkles to represent astrophage. In the other d20 is Rocky in his little ball to roam about Grace’s ship, all hand painted and printed. For the primary set dice, I went through several attempts at capturing the depth and beauty of the astrophage as seen in the movie, and for the number inking I tried to paint the Petrova Line through the numbers, with the highest number being the brightest.

I am very proud of this set and so emotional about it haha! I’m so glad it will be used and cherished in its new home! May they roll amaze amaze amaze 👎

Our coral reef d20s are generally our most ambitious insert paint jobs just because of how much is going on in there! I grew up watching nature documentaries and the ones about the ocean definitely stuck with me the most. Dreams of being a marine biologist or scuba diver sprouted from those documentaries and though they never quite came to fruition, my love for the sea never dulled. May that love show in these beautiful coal reef d20s!

With a slightly smaller blank die, we can go through the tedious process of trimming and covering it in any kind of washi tape, then casting it in a normal mold to become beautiful patterned dice! My many many hour playing Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, cooking some dubious food as well as some other yummier meals, inspired me to make this dice diorama. Hello friends 🧚‍♀️ For those of you who might not know my name, I am Eleanor, one of the owners and creatives behind Baba Yaga’s Bits and Bobs. Hannah and I wanted to take a moment to re-introduce ourselves, to say hello, and to give you a bit more background about the faces behind Baba Yaga’s Bits and Bobs!

I am very fortunate to come from a family of nerds, who you could say set me on this adventure! Growing up, it was our tradition to watch at least one Lord of the Rings movie anytime we were all together. Zelda was a household name for us, board games were true sibling bonding, and I started playing DnD my freshman year of high school (after hearing stories of my Dad’s campaign in the 70’s).

Working as an event florist, and attending conventions and Renaissance Festivals as Baba Yaga’s Bits and Bobs helped me realize I have a passion for events. Once I figured that out, I was FINALLY able to complete my degree in Event Management from UF (please don’t tell), and now I work as an Event Planner for Marriott.

I love flowers and plants. A lot of my creations are inspired by the beauty of nature. I like to sew when I have the time. The outfit I wear to most Ren Faires is 100% made by me. There are lots of mistakes but I get better with every piece I make, and maybe someday I can make something for you!

It is very appropriate that Hannah and I first met playing a Dnd campaign. Baba Yaga’s Bits and Bobs came together as a way to keep us from losing our minds while we were living together during COVID, and it has grown into so much more. I treasure the time I get to spend creating fun trinkets with my best friend, and sunny days getting to know you all and chatting about your favorite DnD character or fun new game.

Quick WIP post! Technically she’s done and shipped off to her home but I never posted it sooo I’m posting now. This is probably my favorite gold and moss design I’ve made yet, it’s so elegant and the wisps of green mixing with the moss and accenting the gold just make me so happy ☺️💚🌿

I’m trying to get back into painting dice inserts to get my creative juices flowing so I actually start making dice again. Eleanor and I will be making some dice this weekend (perhaps some Soot Sprite sets 👀) so stay tuned! I’ve got a whole new recording setup so we should have some cool new content next week!

Also, I’m planning to paint all of the Eeveelutions as a personal passion project so stay tuned!

We LOVE dice. And we love to talk about dice. If you stop by our booth, you might get lucky enough (or unlucky enough depending on your level of dice goblin) to get caught up in an enthusiastic lecture about dice making. Especially when it comes to these diorama dice. They are extremely intricate, and we love to share all the small details with you!

We will be at InfinityCon in Tallahassee this weekend (July 12th and 13th) peddling are wares are talking your ear off about everything dice and D&D. It has been a while since we have been able to do an in-person event, and we are stoked. InfinityCon is an awesome convention with gaming tournaments, robot fighting, amazing artists, and of corse - your favorite dice makers. Please stop by our booth and we will show you all the fun little goodies we have been making. We hope to see you there!!! ❤️
